We got so lucky to get a placement here with SKOP. My 4 year old daughter who had been home with me the whole 4 years adapted so well to SkOP. The teachers are kind, patient, and loving! My 2 year old is always happy to see his teachers in the mornings. I have peace of mind knowing my children are in such good care. We are also grateful for their time taken to plan extra events for the kids and parents! Thank you to all the staff at SKOP for our lovely experience.

We chose A Special Kind of Play because it’s close to home, and it has ended up being such a great fit for our family. The teachers are so caring and supportive, and the environment is warm, welcoming, and full of fun learning opportunities, especially the big indoor play area! Since starting here, our child has become more independent and confident with completing tasks on their own, which has been amazing to see. It’s a wonderful place for children to grow, learn, and thrive, and we’re very happy we made this choice.

I’m writing this as my personal experience was not the best at SKOP. Pending finality of current investigations, I’ll wait till the final outcome before I write about that issue . I’ve withdrawn my daughter from SKOP even without securing an alternate arrangement so you can imagine how distressing I feel to take that step. Her first two weeks wasn’t the best experience. Teachers were not informed that my daughter was resuming so it was a bit chaotic. Daily updates are not given as to check in time, check out time, nap time or even nutrition so you have no clue how your child is faring until you call, send messages or send emails. There’s no proactive communication either because teachers need more hands ( other daycares have program supervisors) , or maybe they just don’t care . It’s generally not managed well. At drop off teachers are not nice, they do not proactively take the child from you , sometimes I’ve had to beckon or call on them to hand over my child to them . Quite a few times at pick up I’ll ask about my daughter’s day and the educator would be clueless and one time she even told me she doesn’t know because she’s not the day teacher. I had to press and press to know how her transition was at the daycare. There’s generally not enough communication, not enough supervision and care. I wish all the children here the best and do hope that they’re safe.

We’re so happy we found A Special Kind of Play when we moved to the area. Our daughter settled in so quickly because the teachers are truly caring and make her feel loved and safe. She’s become more confident, talks so much more, and comes home excited to share what she learned, songs, letters, numbers, everything! She adores her teachers and we can see how much they care about her too. The school has great space to play and explore, inside and outside. We’re grateful to be part of this community and definitely recommend SKOP to other families.

I was fooled by the reviews and reassurances that my daughter would be safe, well taken care of and nurtured. Sadly and with a heavy heart, this was not a safe environment for my child . The poor communication was surprising and shocking . I didn’t even get check in or check out notifications on when she’s dropped off or who picked her up!!! C’mon that’s basic , atleast a notification when she’s picked up. Then let’s talk about no notification for naps, for nutrition- if she ate, how much she ate , . There’s zero communication , only random pics once a week if you’re lucky . The teachers are so detached and clueless about my child’s day. Everyday felt like a horror movie and I kept hoping and believing it will change . This daycare gave me anxiety like I’ve never known and I wish I never enrolled my daughter here. So imagine pulling out from a CWELCC centre to a non-CWELCC centre..I couldn’t put a price on my daughter’s safety and my mental health . Wish the other children safety.
