Great place for kids to learn how to swim. They need to improve on space, though. Often, the lane is crowded and kids cross each other, which can be very distracting. In addition, I am not sure if the report card is accurate or reflects the full picture of the kids' progress. To me, it looks like it was already decided before the session was completed.

I haven't seen better swimming instructors and front desk staff anywhere else. Such good kids are teaching swimming, they are polite, kind and so helpful. The front staff is friendly and very friendly too.

The swimming instructors consistently demonstrate a high level of professional competence. However, we have identified significant concerns regarding the cleanliness of the facility, particularly the persistent odor in the family changing room. Furthermore, a lock in one of the changing rooms has been inoperable for over two months, despite repeated notifications to staff. The proposed solution, which involved securing the door with tape, is considered inadequate. Should you find these conditions, particularly within the family changing room, acceptable, this facility may meet your requirements. This situation also raises questions regarding the overall water quality of the pool.

Back in February I had paid for two weeks of summer camp for my son. Since then BGC Durham has taken over $300 out of my bank account on multiple occasions for the cost of summer camp. Each time I have had to call and fight with them to get my money back. Families be very wary of this organization as it does not seem to have its finances in line.

We’ve had a really positive experience with the swimming instructors and front desk staff, they are kind, patient, and great with the kids. My son enjoys his lessons and the actual programming is wonderful. However, the change room situation is extremely disappointing. It is consistently dirty and poorly maintained. The single baby change table in the family changeroom is almost always covered in water, loose hair, and general mess left behind by other families. It makes it very uncomfortable (and honestly unhygienic) to change a baby after swimming. There should absolutely be sanitizing wipes available for parents, and the change rooms need to be cleaned much more frequently, ideally on a scheduled basis throughout the day. The smell of body odour in the space is also a recurring issue. The staff and instructors deserve praise, but the facility cleanliness really needs attention. A cleaner, better-maintained change room would make a huge difference for families.
