A warning for parents—especially those looking for infant care I would not recommend this daycare. I was initially hesitant due to the consistent bad reviews, but like many parents, I needed a spot so I could return to work. My older daughter had a good experience with a different program under this organization, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. It was a mistake I deeply regret. Atmosphere & Staffing: The environment felt incredibly unenthusiastic. The staff appeared burnt out, tired, and as if they were only there for a paycheck. There was a noticeable lack of teamwork and consistency. The constant rotation of different staff and unannounced "students" made it impossible for my infant to establish a routine. I was also deeply uncomfortable with the lack of transparency regarding who was handling personal care, including diaper changes. Health & Nutrition: While enrolled full-time, my daughter spent roughly 75% of her time at home, sick and miserable. She was sent home every 1–2 days at the exact same time for "vomiting," to the point where she was medically deemed "failure to thrive." The center features an incredibly complex menu unsuited for infants, yet when she wouldn't eat it, they resorted to store-bought food pouches. When I asked to bring in safe, alternative food to accommodate her, management flatly refused. Our family physician even mentioned she was concerned about the childcare because she seemed better when she was out of the daycare. Licensing Concerns: Despite multiple clear, sunny days, the staff constantly made excuses to avoid going outside ("too slippery," "too cold," "not walking well yet"). Licensed daycares have obligations regarding outdoor time, yet excuses were the norm here. My daughter started a new daycare two months ago and the difference is night and day—she is happy, thriving, and her mood shifted completely by day two. I wish I had listened to my instincts and pulled her out sooner. From one mom to another: please look elsewhere for your child's care.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Bayview Heights YMCA Childcare Centre! As a parent, knowing your children are in safe and loving hands is invaluable, and that’s exactly what I’ve experienced here. The staff are incredible with my 8-month-old daughter and her sibling. The Supervisor Anges she always pays close attention to details and ensures everything runs smoothly. i appricate the fact that she listens and communicate with the family when there is need to, My little daughter is always happy to be around the staff ,she eats well, plays joyfully, and has an excellent sleep routine. Thanks to the dedicated educators, she’s thriving, moving actively, and growing beautifully. Every morning,I drop off my kids with complete peace of mind, knowing they’ll be well cared for. We’ve been coming here for over a year, and I can confidently say it’s an amazing center. I’m beyond grateful for the love, care, and professionalism of everyone at Bayview Heights YMCA. Highly recommended.

I bring my children to the YMCA for daycare, and we’ve had an excellent experience every time. Agnes, the manager, ensures everything runs smoothly and follows protocols efficiently, which gives me peace of mind as a parent. Her team is friendly, professional, and always great with the kids. The environment is safe, fun, and engaging, and my children love coming here. I highly recommend this YMCA to other parents looking for a reliable and welcoming place for their children.

Don’t follow protocols, starved my infant son TWICE (8 months). Supervisor Agnes is very apathetic towards concerns with children, she’s very hard to get ahold of and is too “busy” to be bothered with the fact my son was starved twice. Avoided making correct incident reports on matters. No repercussions for employees actions. Don’t answer their phones almost ever. Workers constantly complain about my son wanting to be held. Don’t send your kid here unless you MUST or at least until they are speaking.
